ASSEMBLIES, TRIPS & WORKSHOPS
Workshops
The pupils are able to enjoy visiting theatre companies, dance groups, opera singers and musicians. These sessions are normally followed by workshops, which allow excellent teaching and learning to take place. Parents may be asked for a voluntary contribution towards these activities.
School visits and outings
Each term all classes take part in educational visits which are of enormous educational value and form part of the National Curriculum requirements for the children’s programme of study.
Visits include galleries, museums, places of worship, theatres and outside spaces. Whole school trips include a visit to Walton-on-the-Naze and to the Theatre at Christmas time to see a pantomime.
Year four have a planned visit to a Science residential centre in Sussex, Juniper Hall, for three days. This is an exciting time for the children and for some this may be the first time away from home.
Year 6 pupils have a planned school journey to the Isle of Wight, East Dene. This is a residential trip lasting for five days.
Assemblies
Through our Assemblies we celebrate the diversity of our school and reflect on the curriculum topics focused by different year groups. In addition we celebrate different festivals from around the world.
